Get Out the Vote

In 2020, I partnered with several clients to help encourage people to vote. Clients included NYC Votes, Art on Link, and Puma NYC. The brief was to create a design that both encouraged voting and was specific to NYC, as the creation would be showed on screens specifically here in New York. Living in Brooklyn, I decided to draw the Brooklyn Bridge, which I had walked across the year before. I added a vote message in a typeface called No Reason, which I also created myself. The design I made for NYC Votes X Art on Link was chosen to be featured on video kiosks throughout NYC for a week in October. It was also one of four designs picked to be sold on t-shirts and shown on a video screen at the Puma NYC flagship store with proceeds benefiting Urban Word NYC, which promotes activism and civic engagement through the arts.

I used this same visual system of typography, color palette, and photo textures to create Get out the Vote graphics for AIGA and Culture Surge. For both of these graphics, I emphasized the different ways to vote during the pandemic - mail in, early voting, and in person.
